Workvisit project Bestcon

Last May, the last group from Valencia had the opportunity to participate on another workvisit to various companies in Veldhoven. It was a fruitful and enlightening experience that allowed us to witness the practical implementation of our projects and gain valuable insights into the construction industry.

On Tuesday afternoon, we had the pleasure of visiting Bestcon, where we were given a comprehensive tour by Jeroen van Helvoirt. It was a fantastic opportunity to see how the elements we had developed were being manufactured. Witnessing the process firsthand was both enjoyable and educational, giving us a deeper appreciation for the practical application of our work.

The following day, we visited Riboton B.V., where we observed the production of various elements that we had contributed to. Sander Boer and Jefrey van Capel graciously provided us with a guided tour and even treated us to a delightful lunch. It was a valuable experience to see our designs taking shape in different forms and gaining a better understanding of the production process.

Our work visit also took us to Amsterdam, where we had the chance to explore the Stepstone and Fibonacci projects, both realized by VORM Holding. We were thrilled to witness our integrated engineering becoming a reality. We extend our gratitude to Bjorn van Dijk, Jeroen Stam, and Corshant Martes for their insightful tour, which further enriched our understanding of the practical implementation of our work.

Verhoeven Timmerfabriek was our next stop on Thursday, where we were astounded by the craftsmanship displayed in the creation of wooden masterpieces. Michiel Hendriks provided us with an informative tour, and we left with a deep admiration for the skill and dedication required to produce such intricate pieces.

Lastly, we had the pleasure of visiting BAM Wonen, located conveniently close to our office. Here, we had the opportunity to witness the beautiful combination of (prefab) concrete and wood in their projects. Pablo Moraes, our colleague from Uruguay shared his impressions, expressing his amazement at the level of planning and organization involved in ensuring smooth and efficient construction processes. He was particularly intrigued by the complexity of the moulds used in the prefabrication process, and the attention to detail required to create them. The visit expanded his knowledge and appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in prefabricated components.

Overall, our work visit was a remarkable experience that allowed us to witness the practical realization of our projects and gain a deeper understanding of the construction industry. We are grateful to all the companies and individuals who generously shared their expertise and provided us with valuable insights. We look forward to implementing this newfound knowledge in our future endeavors.

Workvisit project Cambuur

In January, another group of our colleagues had the opportunity to participate on another workvisit. At the construction site of our project Cambuur Leeuwarden, Pieter Tadema from the firm Van Wijnen reserved some time for us.

Also Haitsma Beton, a company with whom we are working together for quite some time already, took the time to guide the group. Bert van de Berg and Henk Beenen gave us a warm welcome and gave a guided tour. Also Elena Pravioti was part of the group, she really liked the visit, to actually see over there where you are spending a lot of time during your work. Now you really recognize parts of your work.  “Beyond the precast concrete ‘Producing good quality of precast elements is the key for a success business. I think the factory production follows a standardized system that makes the production substantially productive. A complex procedure, they make it simple due to the well-organized line and program they follow. Also really friendly and explanatory on the tour, ‘’ she says.

We would like to thank  Pieter Tadema, Bert van de Berg and Henk Beenen for making time for us and their enthusiasm.

Colleagues from Valencia  brave the cold during work visit in the Netherlands

A group of our colleagues from our office in Valencia, came over to the Netherlands for a work visit.

During this visit, they visited the Postjesweg 175 project in Amsterdam. On behalf of Van Wijnen,  Jeffrey Visbeen gave a guided tour and discussed designing, engineering and assembly of prefab casco’s for high-rise buildings.

To learn more about the process of producing prefab elements, the group visited concrete manufacturers. At MBS Casco they were warmly welcomed by Michel Uildriks, Michiel Munnike and Bjorn van Dijk. The halls showed several elements that were in production, and were engineered by Snijders Ingenieursgroep. In this way, the colleagues could experience of how calculating and modelling elements lead to producing these elements in the factory.

The 2nd day’s agenda included a visit to Geelen Beton. A wonderful family business with which Snijders Ingenieursgroep has enjoyed working for 30 years already! The colleagues were well informed by Peter Janssen and Wim Rongen about all the ins and outs involved in producing prefab elements.

Reinforcing elements is a critical part. Therefore a visit to GP Wapening in Venray was scheduled.  Once again, our colleagues from Valencia came up short to see how our models and drawings were converted (semi-automatically) into reinforcement baskets. Throughout the afternoon, Pieter de Haart was enthusiastically answered the hundreds of questions.

Our partner Byldis filled in the final day. Byldis and Snijders Ingenieursgroep work closely together and Byldis is a co-founder of our Tekla department in Valencia. During the tour, Hein Moors, René Weijers, Yerodin Juliana, Ana Paula Mendes and Lucas Vreeswijk managed to leave colleagues with a great impression about the sandwich elements produced by Byldis.

Besides instruction en training there was also time for relaxing. While enjoying snacks and drinks there was also time to get to know colleagues from Veldhoven and Montevideo (Uruguay)

Again, many thanks to Van Wijnen, MBS Cascobouw, Betonfabriek Geelen, GP Wapening and Byldis  for their hospitality and enthusiasm with which they welcomed our colleagues from Valencia.

Architecture Business Days

In November, Snijders Ingenieursgroep participated in the  “Bouwkunde Bedrijvendagen” at the Eindhoven University of Technology.

André and Bart represented Snijders Ingenieursgroep at the fair. During this fair, Snijders Ingenieursgroep presented its services and gave an impression of the many high-rise projects in which they were involved in.

Visitors could also win a tapa-night by giving an accurate description of various items and materials showed on a display (see image). Many students submitted an answer form.

With its participation in the fair, Snijders Ingenieursgroep aims to enthuse students about designing, engineering and executing building structures in concrete, steel and/or wood.
