Because of the enormous growth of the Christelijk Lyceum the monumental school building needed a rebuilding. A nice combination of old and new where the monumental status of the building was taken into account. An important part of the renewal was the Grand Café. The students were spread throughout the school during the lunch break because they didn't have a nice rest place. Wiersema Architects has made a beautiful design for the Grand Café inspired by different atmospheres such as a nightclub, a shisha lounge and a literary café among others. It creates the feeling of a night out for the students. A nice place for the students to relax during their lunch breaks.

De opdracht
Snijders Ingenieursgroep has worked out two steel portal constructions and the suspension for the first floor for the Grand Café of the Christelijk Lyceum in Zeist. Snijders Ingenieursgroep has also done the inspection on location and has given advice regarding the execution.
